The eSafety Label project was launched on 7 February 2012, during an event to mark Safer Internet Day 2012.

The event was held in European Schoolnet's Future Classroom Lab and included speeches from:

  • special guest Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Agenda
  • Marc Durando, Director of European Schoolnet
  • and Jan De Craemer from the Flemish Ministry of Education.
