A participative device, the Voting Booth invites young people to experiment with different citizenship modes and to make their voice heard on society’s important questions. The Voting booth has a twofold objective: To promote the understanding of digital citizenship by allowing 14 to 18 year olds, in a fun environment, to experience civic action in different forms and to take side on society’s big issues... To change the world together. And to bring to the public the opinions of young people around these debates.The device is based on a progressive voting system allowing the “player-citizen” to get back to his earlier positions through a reflexive path. The player is invited to venture, on propositions linked to society’s important debates: •An opinion: based on experiences and convictions but also perhaps on preconceptions.•An informed vote: based on the consultation of the documents proposed by the game. •A reasoned vote: which takes into account the arguments given by other players interested by the question. The device favours a collective process by allowing the player, at different levels, to visualize their participation and their impact on the broader debate.Issues tackled in the game are Digital education, Online democracy, Privacy and digital identity, Online freedom of speech and Online business models.
