What if the Internet Stopped Working? is an experiment to make visible the ubiquitous nature and the importance of the Internet. During the experiment participants are asked to stop using the Internet for as long as they can, until something forces the participants back online. During the experiment they are asked to take notes about what they try to do and how they feel about the limited options for daily activities and information seeking. The experiment can be made into a competition to see who can survive the longest. The purpose of the experiment is not abstinence but rather illustration how it has become impossible to live without the Internet in a modern society.
