eSafety Label+: Become the next eSafety Champion

eSafety Label+ logoeSafety Label+: Become the next eSafety Champion’ is an Erasmus+ project aiming to mobilise and foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices among a wide community of European teachers and other school actors to better equip schools for a safe and responsible digital future.

Research report: Mapping online safety needs and priorities in education

This report identifies the key strengths and weaknesses of online safety across schools in Europe, as well as areas of improvement. In addition, it assesses the current certification process of eSafety Label and the impact of the initiative in the schools’ environment.

The report draws upon a quantitative research carried out among 1,150 members of the eSafety Label community and forms an evidence base for all further eSafety Label+ project activities.

The eSafety Label platform: Online capacity building tools and services

Online capacity building tools and services were newly developed and integrated into the eSafety Label platform, which was revamped. Furthermore, eSafety Label+ project partners will update content and animate discussion, forging a more vibrant community of practice.


eSafety Champion materials

A broad range of fact sheets, guidelines and best practice scenarios on online safety aiming to inspire and engage teachers and pupils on online safety discussions will be published in three set along the course of the project. These learning materials foster the creation of an online safe school ecosystem, focusing on the three key areas of online safety (infrastructure, policy and practice).

Materials will be available in English, Czech, Greek and Portuguese.

Become the Next eSafety Champion MOOC

The eSafety Label+ MOOC, starting on 21 October 2019, aims to support education professionals to create an online safety strategy tailored to their school’s needs in order to ensure their pupils learn and interact in a safer digital environment. How will this be achieved? Through an introduction to the concept of ‘eSafety strategy’ and a thorough analysis of the schools’ strengths and shortcomings. Participants will reflect upon and be better prepared to make informed decisions about a safer technological infrastructure, school policies and practices for their students. Moreover, the eSafety strategy developed throughout this MOOC will pave the way for their school to receive an eSafety Label!

eSL+ manifesto: Become the next eSafety Champion - lessons learned and how to move forward

The eSafety Label+ manifesto is a public friendly report that provides a summary of the eSafety Label+ project and highlights lessons learned. It provides an overview of the current online safety landscape with reference to the challenges that young people are facing online. It makes recommendations for policy makers and practitioners with regards to how to move online safety education and provision forwards.
