This is precisely the reason why it is essential that more teachers acquire the necessary confidence to address and to tackle the issue of online safety in their school.

Just because children and young people nowadays are portrayed as “digital natives” it doesn’t mean they are also digitally literate or resilient enough to face all the risks they may encounter online! This is where the adults in their lives step in – including both their parents and their tutors and teachers who should feel well prepared to tackle online safety education at school level.
