‘eSafety Label+: Become the next eSafety Champion’ is an Erasmus+ project aiming to mobilise and foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices among a wide community of European teachers and other school actors to better equip schools for a safe and responsible digital future.
Ambassadors
The eSafety Label+ project partners invited a group of teachers and ICT coordinators from Greece, Portugal and the Czech Republic to participate in an ambassadors’ scheme that will allow them to become certified eSafety Champions, empowering them to become leaders in the promotion of a safe, responsible and positive use of ICT among schools, teachers and pupils. The group of eSafety Label+ Ambassadors is at the core of the project.
Ambassadors are teachers or ICT coordinators that demonstrate expertise and excellence on online safety issues in their organisation. Their schools, which obtained a golden or silver label, are best placed to move this field forward and to lead and stimulate online safety education within their own countries and local communities.
The training programme
The eSafety Label+ Ambassadors become certified eSafety Champions after taking part in a nine-month training programme comprised of a series of online learning events and also a 3-day face-to-face training course at European Schoolnet’s Future Classroom Lab, delivered and facilitated by online safety experts and pedagogical advisors from the project partner organisations. In the timeline below you can find all the activities that the eSafaty Label+ Ambassadors will attend in the course of their training.
Throughout their journey, eSafety Ambassadors will also help to animate the eSafety Label community, elaborating on their online safety experiences, while inspiring their peers.
As a result of their eSafety Champion certification, ambassadors will develop new learning materials to inspire and engage teachers and pupils on online safety discussions. These materials, created in close collaboration with the eSafety Label+ project partners, will foster an online safe school ecosystem, focusing on the three key areas of online safety (infrastructure, policy and practice).
The first batch of eSafety Champion materials will be around topics such as GDPR, fake news, online reputation, screen time and cyberbullying. They will available here and you will be able to download them for free to use in your lessons.
