To me, eSafety Label is a valuable tool to primarily prevent harmful activities on the internet and being an eSafety Label+ Ambassador gives me and my team a chance to promote this fantastic project together with the principles of security in its deeper aspects.
Municipality of Prague 3, Czech Republic
Please introduce yourself and explain how and when you became involved with the eSafety Label world:
As principal of Junior Language School (1991-2016) I participated in several projects regarding online safety. I used to be a member of Schoolnet IWB board and now I work as the head of school department of Municipality of Prague 3.
What has been the impact of the eSafety Label project in your work? How did you benefit from the eSafety Label initiative before becoming an eSafety Label+ Ambassador?
We were the first Silver Label school in the Czech Republic and I contributed to introducing all elementary schools in the region to the eSafety Label initiative. The initiative is now regarded as a valuable tool to primarily prevent harmful activities on the internet and nowadays, eSafety Label is a part of the municipal school policy. Being and eSafety Label + Ambassador gives me and my team a chance to further promote the project and the principles of security in its deeper aspects.
What was the biggest online safety challenge you had to face in your school? How did eSafety Label help you surpass it?
Online safety challenges are daily burden for the vast majority of schools and I think that by applying some of the rules proposed by the eSafety Label could be an effective school-wide policy, replacing the excessive prevention measure of banning of cell phones in schools. Such step is in my opinion a completely inappropriate approach regardless of some reasonable reasons behind it.
